Refund Policy — Schins Atelier

At Schins Atelier, your complete satisfaction is important to us. Should an item not meet your expectations, you may exercise your statutory right of withdrawal.

Right of Withdrawal: 14 Days

You have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receipt, without giving any reason. The withdrawal period begins on the day you — or a third party other than the carrier designated by you — take physical possession of the goods. This right applies to all purchases in our online store, including sale items.

Return Conditions

To be eligible for a refund, the item must be:

  • unworn and unused;
  • with all original tags attached;
  • returned in its original packaging;
  • adequately protected to prevent damage during transit.

You are responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

How to Return Your Order

Every parcel includes our return form with step-by-step instructions and a cut-out address label. Fill in your details on the form, cut out the label and attach it to your return parcel. You may ship the parcel directly — no prior notification is required.

Return Shipping Costs

Return shipping costs are at your expense. We recommend shipping with tracking so you can prove that the parcel has been sent. In the event of loss of an untracked return, we cannot provide a refund.

Processing and Refund

After receiving your return, we will process it within 1–2 working days. You will automatically receive a confirmation email once your return has been processed.

Two Options: Refund or Store Credit

You choose how you wish to receive the amount:

  • Refund to the original payment method — we refund the full purchase price including the original standard shipping costs to the account or card with which you paid. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take several working days for the amount to be credited.
  • Store Credit — the amount is added to your customer account as personal credit, ready to use immediately both in our online store and in our store in Maastricht. You will automatically receive an email with your balance and a unique code.

Please indicate your preference with your return. We reserve the right to withhold the refund until we have received the goods or until you have provided proof of return, whichever is earlier.

Additional costs for a faster or more expensive shipping option than our standard shipping will not be refunded.

Exchanges

Would you like to exchange your item for a different size or colour? That is possible. The quickest way is to order the new item separately and return the original item following the steps above. You may also opt for store credit and use it to pay for your new order.

Damaged or Incorrect Item

Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt. Should an item be damaged, defective or incorrectly delivered, contact us within 48 hours at info@schinsmaastricht.com with a brief description and, if possible, photos. We will resolve the issue in consultation with you — at no cost to you, in accordance with our statutory conformity obligations under EU consumer law.

Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

  • goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised (e.g. name engraving, made-to-measure items);
  • sealed goods which are not suitable for return for hygiene or health reasons and which have been unsealed after delivery (e.g. underwear, swimwear from which the hygiene sticker has been removed);
  • gift cards.

Dispute Resolution

The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged to participate in dispute resolution procedures, but we strive to resolve any complaint directly.
